Isla Los Roques, about 60 nautical miles north of venezuelan capital Caracas. Most extraordinary coral island group of Venezuela, with quiet some tourism, infrastructure and an airstrip,for only small planes from the mainland. Total approx 600 sq miles. Here one can easily spend a year, exploring & enjoying.

The main island called Gran Roques is the place to land first and to contact the authorities. About 600 inhabitants, restaurants and posada's (hostels). One can buy fuel and water and basic groceries and of course fish and lobster. From here swarm out over the archipel with hundreds of anchorages., some with mangroves others with just a few palm trees . It's about 12 hours sailing (beamreaching) from La Tortuga. At least spend a few days here !
