It's not always as windy as on the day that some pictures for this website were taken, but if you pick your day, you could get some exiting real sailing along this leeward side of Aruba, which is excellent for enjoyable sailing.
Of course we can, on request, easily reef down the sails,
to go a bit quieter.
Food&drinks:
When you bring your own foods etc, there is NO extra fee for this;
If you want you can ask me to take care of anything you wish.
We have a variety of music on board, and the music volume we can regulate from very loud to OFF. There is latin,cuban, salsa, merengue, bachata, baillenato, rock, reggae(ton), Bach, Satie, Chopin, Debussy and Clapton. (or bring your own, any MP3 is fine)
Along Aruba's leeward coastline, within a few miles offshore where is hardly any swell and motion of the vessel is generally smooth, the chance of getting seasick is close to zero. However, if you get already seasick when looking from your beach chair to boats passing by (or when you have extreme fears for water and the sea), then turn your beach chair 180 degrees, sit down and stay calm and stay there. (maybe sip a water)
Passengers will be shuttled from Havana beach to the yacht Monsoon by a 13 ft RIB inflatable tender. Only soft shoes or bare foot please on board of Monsoon, and please do not bring any sand from the beach.
Once on board you'll have to sign the liability waiver that you should read here. Completing this agreement is important and not personally signing this contract could result in loosing your insurance coverage.

Jan van Roekel (Dutch technical engineer) is the proud skipper/owner, living aboard since 1993, sailed Monsoon twice via Easter Island (pict left) across the Pacific to and from New Zealand. Made during 15 years 70.000 nautical miles with his Monsoon, has done 6 years charters in Aruba with Monsoon and speaks Dutch, English, Spanish, German, French and Greek. (a little bit)

Monsoon is a classic sailing yacht, professionally built and well equipped for the most demanding open ocean voyages. She carries all furling sails, most advanced navigation electronics, a great 200 horsepower marine diesel engine, and twin diesel generators. Monsoon has a stable 70 tons displacement (over 150.000 lbs), a pleasant interiour and a clean bathroom. On board there is plenty of seating in sun and in shade;
